Dr. Abida Taher serves as the Health Chair for Grace Girls’ Home. She works in private practice in Clearwater, FL with Florida Cancer Specialists.
A founding board member of the New Children’s Museum, Alice still serves on its education committee and is currently La Jolla auxiliary chapter liaison for Rady Children’s Hospital.
Dan is passionate about bringing equal opportunity to everybody around the world. Daniel believes that often people don’t succeed, not because they don’t have hopes or dreams, but instead because they view the world through a small window of opportunity.
Dharshini assists with Marketing and Donor Management. After a degree in Accounting & Economics and a stint in Corporate Banking she now focuses her efforts in the non-profit sector. Her two interests are opportunities for women and safeguarding the environment. She also serves as Board Treasurer of the “Eco-School Network”.
Born in Sri Lanka, Jeeva earned her bachelor's in mathematics and computer science from India and then worked in advertising in Colombo for a couple of years. She currently runs her own software firm in Michigan.
Jennifer has been teaching for over 23 years in the Walled Lake School District. She enjoys mentoring young people entering the teaching profession through internships in her classroom and has enjoyed following their success after they leave her.
Moiez grew up in Sri Lanka and moved to the United States in 1980. He attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and received his B.S. in Business Management.
Dr. Naresh Gunaratnam serves as the President of the non-profit that runs Grace Girls’ Home. He was born in Sri Lanka and emigrated to the United States when he was eight.
Para has been a practicing cardiologist in Staten Island for over 20 years. He grew up in Sri Lanka where he began his medical education at the University of Jaffna.
Scott Kellman serves as a Board member and legal resource for the Grace Girls’ Home. In his professional life, Scott serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of American Eagle Lifecare Corporation, a not-for-profit provider of senior living services.
Vikki is a Registered Nurse, Certified Health Coach, and yoga teacher. Vikki is an advocate for health and wellness and her passion is guiding others to achieve physical and emotional wellness through various holistic practices.
