Program Overview:
This started around 2017. The girls were given a square of dirt that they had to keep clean and it evolved into a garden. The thought was “why not throw some seeds and see what it will grow?”. They were burning leftover food scraps but they now compost those items and use the compost to fertilise their crops. 30-40% of the food cost is grown. To avoid having the same food and when they have more than what they need, Anjela barters vegetables for fish with the fishermen. The girls are in charge of watering and plucking while the gardener does the majority of the grunt work.
